Title: Workshop C: Creating Useful, Meaningful, and Beautiful Data Visualizations
Instructor: Dana Bauer, Geographer and Spatial Data Analyst
Description: We all are overwhelmed with data about our institutions, records, photos, objects, books, and everything else we track. How do we organize that data and present it in a way that is meaningful and useful? In this workshop, we’ll talk about finding additional sources of data to give context to the information you already track. We’ll then review tools for cleaning up your data and getting it out of one system and into platforms where you can make visualizations. We’ll spend the rest of the workshop talking about open source and proprietary tools that you can use to make your data beautiful, meaningful, and understandable to internal and external audiences.
